Naturally smoked
Traditional smoking gives the sprats their characteristic aroma and colour.

Baltic sprats, sunlight and sea salt — a story of Engure carried in every can.
This is where our story begins.
Engures Gardās Šprotes was created as a tribute to the place where seafood production at our site and the lives of local families have been closely connected for more than a century. Across several generations, many people from Engure — and their parents and grandparents — have worked at Unda. Their story is part of ours.
Every can carries one of ten authentic photographs from our company archive, accompanied by a historical story about Engure. The Engure pine symbol honours the strength and endurance of the coastal forests. The pack is more than a label. It is a small piece of local history that can travel beyond the coast where it began.

Engure is not a backdrop added to the product. It is a lived coastal place: open sea, a small harbour, pine forest, reeds, shifting weather and weekends that move at their own pace. This is where the Diplomats story is rooted, and where this product naturally belongs.

Traditional smoking gives the sprats their characteristic aroma and colour.
The fish remains soft beneath its smoked surface.
Sunflower oil carries the flavour without obscuring the fish.
Sea salt completes a concise three-ingredient composition.

Rye bread, fresh vegetables and a quiet Baltic morning need very little ceremony.

A walk by the water, shells in small hands and room to hear the sea.

Sandy forest paths make the coast part of the journey, not only the destination.

A simple picnic in the dunes while the Baltic horizon turns gold.

Mornings begin quietly on the water. Small boats return past weathered piers, nets are set down and the harbour settles into the rhythm of the day. This is the natural context of Engure: a coastal place shaped by sea, weather and people who choose to remain close to both.
The product belongs to the place.
Engure Smoked Sprats in Oil 100g belongs in this World because its flavour, natural serving moment and culinary character support the atmosphere described here. The Engure World is connected to origin. These products belong here because Engure is where the Diplomats story, production knowledge and relationship with the coast come together. The World explains not only what is made, but the working place, people and accumulated craft behind it.

A direct connection to the coastal place where Diplomats products are prepared.
Experience carried through people, process and daily production practice.
Engure is not decorative heritage; it remains part of how the products are made today.

Dark rye bread, potatoes, dill, cucumber and pickled vegetables need no reinvention. They give smoked sprats a familiar place at a Latvian table: practical, generous and quietly confident. This is not a performance of tradition. It is food that still belongs here.

Traditionally smoked Baltic sprats, sunflower oil and sea salt — with local history carried on every can.
