Built for the Next Generation.
Today, Diplomats is family-owned. We make decisions with the long term in mind — protecting the craft, supporting our people and building partnerships meant to last.

Since 1907, generations in Engure have shaped a way of working built on patience, skill and respect for the product. What began on the Latvian coast continues in every Diplomats product we make today.

Seafood production in Engure began in 1907, shaped by the rhythm of the coast and the people who lived beside it. The world around us has changed, but the principles established here — care, precision and respect for the catch — still guide us.

For decades, the Diplomats name has travelled far beyond Engure. It came to represent more than a product — a promise that everything bearing our name would carry our standards with it.

Our history was never carried by machines alone. It lived in the hands of the people who prepared, smoked and packed each product — and in the knowledge passed quietly from one generation to the next.

Knowledge was not simply recorded.
It was passed from hand to hand.

The names, markets and tools changed. The place, the craft and the responsibility to make food well endured. Explore the milestones that shaped Diplomats and the Engure factory.

Production expanded for a new era.
SIA Unda was established to continue Engure’s production tradition.
Today, Diplomats is family-owned. We make decisions with the long term in mind — protecting the craft, supporting our people and building partnerships meant to last.
HACCP placed food safety and quality into a formal system.
Tradition does not mean standing still. We continue to develop new flavours, collections and experiences — bringing more than a century of craftsmanship into the way people live and eat today.
The values remain.
The expression evolves.
